Birdsong Recycle

Endless landfill isn’t ok.

Together, by being more thoughtful about choices we make every day, we can begin to turn off the tap that is currently sending a torrent of waste into landfills and incinerators every day.

Birdsong Recycle is determined to be part of the solution. We want to normalise the concepts of repairing, refurbishing and upcycling, in as many areas of daily life as possible.

Birdsong Recycle makes this easier by finding and partnering with businesses that focus on this.

Our first focus is on helping reduce electronic waste.

It is one of the fastest-growing waste streams. Worldwide, e-waste has nearly doubled since 2010, from 33.8 million metric tons to roughly 62 million tons in 2022. Global e-waste generation is projected to reach 82 million metric tons by 2030.

When electronics are improperly disposed of and ends up in landfills, toxic chemicals are released that can pollute the earth’s air, soil and water for generations to come. E-waste disposal in landfills can also pose serious threats to public health.

One of the simplest ways we can reduce electronic waste is through repair and refurbishment.
